Designed in 1777 as the centerpiece of the park created by François-Joseph Bélanger (1744-1818) for Claude Baudard de Saint-James (1738-1784), the villa is a particularly luxurious residence whose interiors are dedicated to the pleasures of vacationing. Its refined architecture unfolds in the heart of a vast English-style park, punctuated by multiple "folies" that emphasize its whimsy and lightness. The ensemble, remarkable both in terms of its architecture and landscaping, has been classified as a Historic Monument since 1922.

In 2019, the agency carried out initial emergency restoration work on the villa as part of a program commissioned by the Hauts-de-Seine Departmental Council. The work focused on cleaning up the cellars and restoring the facades, particularly the portico leading to the garden, which required a particularly complex intervention protocol due to insufficient foundations and the presence of asbestos in the modern paintwork. Research carried out during the diagnostic study made it possible to restore the faux brick plasterwork and the sculpted medallions, which had disappeared. This study also identified the different materials used in the villa's facades, which could then be restored using appropriate protocols.

A restoration and development study was also delivered to complete the general interior restoration of the villa, outbuildings, and outdoor courtyards. It provides for the restructuring of the interiors, whose restored appearance would reflect the decorative style of the late Ancien Régime. Two scenarios are currently being studied, combining cultural spaces and offices, to breathe new life into this heritage site that bears witness to an exceptional way of life.
