The Dampierre estate, whose former castle was rebuilt in 1683 by architect Jules Hardouin Mansart (1646-1708), had been privately owned by the Luynes family since 1680. It changed hands in 2018 with a view to reopening to the public. That same year, the agency drew up a master plan for restoration and enhancement, defining the main stages of an ambitious project combining built and landscape heritage.
Located in the Chevreuse Valley, the Dampierre estate is undergoing extensive restoration work ahead of its reopening to the public, beginning with the completion of the roof and walls in 2023 and soon to be followed by the refurbishment of the interior spaces to bring them up to standard.
