The Brionnais at the Heart of the narrative

Brionnais at the heart of the novel
The Brionnais, a small area of 800 km² located in the far south of Saône-et-Loire, is home to an exceptionally rich Romanesque heritage.

The documentary, directed by Didier Revollat-Veuillet and Damien Marquet, offers a tour of 16 iconic churches and chapels whose architecture, sculptures, and paintings illustrate a time when the Church used stone as a medium for teaching and spiritual transmission.

The film also features Frédéric Didier, ACMH, who discusses the restoration of the church in Varenne-l'Arconce and mentions several other buildings he has worked on: Anzy-le-Duc, Montceaux-l'Étoile, Marcigny, Iguerande, Châteauneuf, and the basilica in Paray-le-Monial.
