Trees to redesign Vincennes

In Vincennes, the castle esplanade is about to undergo a transformation: around fifty trees, including oaks and Damascus plum trees, are currently being planted.

Under the supervision of Christophe Batard, chief architect of Historic Monuments at the 2BDM agency, the esplanade of the Château de Vincennes continues its transformation. After the removal of diseased trees in the fall of 2024, the project entered a decisive phase with the planting of around fifty trees, including nine large oaks and 36 Damascus plum trees.

This operation, led by the Marcel Villette company, aims to restore the landscape coherence of this historic space. By protecting a dozen trees that are still in good health and creating a new canopy, the project illustrates the combination of heritage preservation and a renewed living environment, offering visitors and residents a green setting in the heart of the fortress.
