The Notre-Dame de Beaune collegiate basilica, classified as a historic monument since 1840, will undergo a major restoration campaign. Between 2026 and 2029, more than €2.6 million will be invested to renovate the eleven side chapels, some of which date back to the 13th century and are now weakened by water infiltration.
An audit conducted by the firm 2BDM, under the supervision of Frédéric Didier, chief architect of historic monuments, revealed the urgent need for intervention, particularly on Cardinal Rolin's chapel. The work will also restore the decorations to their former glory, with the possible uncovering of exceptional 15th-century murals discovered under a 19th-century covering.
Very popular throughout the year, the basilica will undergo restoration work aimed at preserving its heritage while enhancing its cultural and tourist appeal.
